The Gardaí have only gone and done their own Mannequin Challenge

Meet the team from Store Street Station.

IRISH PEOPLE HAVE taken to the Mannequin Challenge with gusto, and so far we’ve seen pubs, schools and house parties pulling off some excellent videos.

The latest one comes from a rather unlikely source: The Gardaí of Store Street Station, who recreated some scenes from a typical day at the station.

But it’s not all fun and games – they’ve used the final frame to encourage people to report domestic violence:

One Facebook user said it was “not a bad try” but there weren’t enough people in it – the Gardaí responded to clear up a few matters:

…We were raising awareness and did not seek Gardaí on other duties to get involved. We had two prisoners in the station at the time and this delayed the recording and arresting Gardaí were dealing with them. One of the prisoners wanted to be in the video but we were not sure he would recall giving his consent in the morning.

Seems fair. Good attempt, all the same!
